2025 D.C. Cup kicks off June 19th

The 5th annual D.C. Cup is ready to kick off June 19th in Washington, D.C. and the tournament committee is excited to offer the event two weeks earlier than in previous years. This year the tournament will open up to small-sided teams between U-9 – U-12 for the first time. These teams will play 7 v 7 and 9 v 9.

The event will welcome teams from throughout various parts of the country and games will be played in the heart of the city. The tournament is expected to utilize at least 10 fields across the city including traditional recreation centers and high schools including Edgewood Recreation, Jelleff Recreation, Dunbar High School, and McKinley High School, some of the best turf fields in the city. Games will spread out throughout the city to allow visiting teams to experience all of the best that the city has to offer. The tournament encourages teams staying in the city to use public transportation as this is one of the best ways to see the city. An app called Moovit has worked for many out of town teams who have attended our tournament in the past, and it is an easy way to navigate the city.

Teams can enjoy playing soccer in the Nation’s Capital during Independence Day and can also enjoy our city with visits to the White House, Capitol, Martin Luther King Jr. statue, and more. The Cup doesn’t have sprawling facilities with 20-25 fields at a complex because we are in a city, so at most of our facilities you will either see 1 field at a recreation center or 1 field at high school, but no more than 3 fields at any one facility. But the fields are quality. So the tournament’s ambiance gives our guests the feeling of playing in a city, and that is what you will experience by coming to the D.C. Cup.
