September 16, 2019 (Washington, DC) – The DC Cup will introduce Friendly Matches on the weekend of the tournament for teams who did not advance through the group stages during the week. With games after the group stages falling on the weekend of July 4th, and since teams will most likely remain in DC for Independence Day, the tournament organizers felt that it was best to offer Friendly matches so teams can get in as many matches as possible before they head back to their cities.
