DC Cup launches and sets sights on July 2020 to kick off tournament

July 15, 2019 (Washington, DC) – Reid Companies, a Maryland based investor company in the industries of sports, health, real estate, and technology industries made a special announcement today to launch the DC Cup, scheduled for July 2-5, 2020. The decision was made by the company due to the void that it saw in the market to provide an international youth soccer tournament in the Nation’s Capital during the July 4th Independence Day.

“During the early parts of July there are not any youth international soccer tournaments. Those tournaments tend to happen either in the middle of June or at the end of July. So we felt the need to offer youth soccer clubs another playing alternative and there is no better time to be in DC then around the 4th of July,” said Glenn Goodwine who has been named the DC Cup Tournament Director.

Reid Companies Managing Director and DC Cup Tournament Administrator Justin Reid said, “DC is a place that I have called home for most of my life. I spend alot of time travelling internationally, but there is no city like DC. Most people know the Nation’s Capital to be the city of lawmakers with the White House and Congress, but there is so much more to it. Though important to the governance of the United States, politics is just a small part to DC.”

DC ranks #1 as the best historical city in the US due to its museums, history, and culture. The city also ranks #8 on the list of best places to visit in the US trailing the likes of other major cities such as San Francisco and New York. With such tradition in the city the DC Cup is sure not to only be a great youth soccer tournament for visitors but also an amazing cultural experience.
