August 18, 2019 (Washington, DC) – After a little over a month of speculation on where the DC Cup would set up its headquarters, the tournament has decided to choose the Kellogg Conference Center and Hotel located on the campus of Gallaudet University, a hard of hearing school founded in 1864, with the mantra “Be Opened”. KCCH will provide a minimum of 40 rooms, complimentary rooms if quotas are met for room reservations that week, meeting space, and a ballroom for a coaches and managers evening event. When Executive Director Justin Reid met with KHCC General Manager of Sales TL Green, he was blown away by the knowledge that she had about soccer events. “It was an easy decision. I was amazed by TL’s enthusiasm and professionalism. As a leader of a tournament, you want to find great partners who are going to make life easy on you because so much has to go right when hosting tournaments to ensure that it is a fantastic event. We are glad to have KCCH as a partner in the first year of our event and we look forward to even more years together in the future.”
KCCH will be mainly designated for international teams who do not participate in the Cultural Exchange program, one where players can stay with families of local clubs. But the DC Cup expects that USA teams and even some local teams, who would prefer to stay in DC during the tournament, will stay at the hotel.
