July 15, 2020 – (Washington, DC)
The D.C. Cup will be donating a portion of its 2021 tournament proceeeds to the Covenant House Greater Washington. CHGW’s mission is to empower, safeguard, and serve youth experiencing homelessness, disconnection, and exploitation in the Greater Washington region.
Tournament Administrator Justin Reid said, “We are committed to promoting soccer as a tool to not only cross cultural barriers by hosting international teams but to also serve the Washington, D.C. community. Our tournament provides a platform for youth who are fortunate enough to play soccer, however, there are youth in our city who are less fortunate and need our support. This is why we have selected the Covenant House of Greater Washington as the beneficiary of our tournament proceeds in 2021.”
The D.C. Cup will also use its platform to raise additional funds for CHGW throughout 2021.
